Museo Nacional de la Mascara / National Mask Museum
Villerias # 2
San Luis Potosi, San Luis Potosi
Mexico
A once private collection of old and new masks from through out Mexico. According to a bronze plaque at the entrance of the museum, the collection was assembled by Victor Jose Moya Rubio, a native of San Luis Potosi. Mexican mask collectors will want to obtain his book entitled: Mascaras: La Otra Cara de Mexico or Masks: The Other Face of Mexico. First published in 1978, the 4th edition was published in 1990 by the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. I visited the museum in March of 2010. Below are photos taken at that time. I have a fresh copy for $200. should there be any interest.

Unfamiliar with this mask type and headdress. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the mask is made of paper. The headdress is also of ephemeral construct.
