Wood, hand made lacquer "maque" and iron fittings.  Wood comes from the  increasingly rare and fragrant linaloe tree.

Mexican , 18th Century neo-Colonial style reproduction of a baul or trunk fitted with period correct iron fittings including a lock and key.  Two coats of maque have been employed with orange as the foundation and red for detail.   Technique used for applying the maque is called "rayado".
